City on Drava River. Pohorje forests, vineyards. Zice Charterhouse - first Carthusian monastery in German sphere.
Program
We visit the Zice Monastery, then continue to Maribor - the castle, Gothic cathedral, tomb of Anton Slomsek (first Slovenian Saint), and Town Hall. We explore the Jewish Quarter with the oldest synagogue and Zidovska Ulica. We visit the Lent district with the oldest grape vine in the world - a Zametovka/Modra Kavcina, over 400 years old and in the Guinness Book of Records. We end with a vineyard drive and wine tasting.
