About This Trip
Historical Carantania principality. Prince's Stone ceremony in Slavic language. Possibly influenced Thomas Jefferson.
Program
We visit Klagenfurt to see the Prince's Stone and walk through the old town. We continue to Karnburg with its castle ruins. Then to Maria Saal with its pilgrimage church, the story of Irish bishop Modestus, and the 9th-century Duke's chair. After lunch, we visit Hochosterwitz Castle with its 14 fortified gates. We return to Slovenia.
