Slovenian Classic - Bled & Bohinj
About This Trip
Visit the Julian Alps and Triglav National Park. Two glacier lakes - Bled and Bohinj. Legend of Crtomir and Bogomila by poet France Preseren.
Program
Our trip takes us deep into the Julian Alps and the Triglav National Park. On the way to the alps, we pass by Bled, the most famous Slovenian lake and the only natural island in Slovenia. Here, we take a Pletna boat to the island in the middle of the lake, where we will visit the Church of St. Mary, which dates back to the 8th and 9th century. There, one can make a wish by ringing the bell of wishes. After visiting the island, we continue to the Bled Castle, where one will find a museum and will have the opportunity to print their own certificate on a replica of the Gutenberg printing press. Later, we continue towards the 2nd glacier lake - lake Bohinj. Here we stop and visit the Church of St. John the Baptist on the eastern shore of the lake. Depending on the group's preference, we can take a cable car on top of Mt. Vogel (1535 m) or walk to the Savica waterfall.
